How much should you be putting on your fork following WLS?

Healthcare professionals recommend eating a 20p portion size of food at any one time.

Changing how you eat is just as important as changing what you eat following surgery.  Chewing well and slowing down is something that will become a normal part of life.  Tackling old eating habits can be hard, so make life easy for yourself and put things in place to help with the transition i.e:

  • Smaller fork - to stop you piling your fork high.
  • Smaller plate - to stop you eating too much.
  • Download an eating app to help with the 20 seconds rest between forkfuls and watch that clock.... No eating past 20 minutes.

If you stick to these guidelines you won't go too far wrong.

So don't forget your 20+ rule - you know it makes sense. 😊
