Exercise with a Balloon

Regular activity should play an important part in your weight loss journey whilst your balloon is in situ and afterwards. Exercise will help you to lose weight and keep it off especially when your balloon is eventually removed

For the first week or so after the balloon has been places we would advise you to take it easy and refrain from exercising – just until you get used to the balloon being in place (follow your providers guidelines should these be different)

Longer term we advise nothing too vigorous as this may cause nausea – a really intense exercise class for example may make you feel sick.  Good choices of exercise would include swimming, cycling and walking – great for weight loss but not too much jumping up and down involved

Start slowly and gradually build up your exercise levels over time. Remember to keep this up when you balloon has been removed to maintain any weight loss – if you feel ready you could step up your exercise regime then
